The Eatery at the Talbot is so named because it offers a comprehensive, but not overwhelming, menu available not only in the main garden restaurant or in the bar or School Room but also alfresco in the courtyard or garden. For larger groups we also have a 14 seater Oak Table with its own discrete area.
The restaurant has one AA Rosette for an experience “that stands out in its local area”. The main menu is reviewed regularly by head Chef Zak who sources ingredients locally but also travels further afield to obtain what he wants….
From local ales and beers of the world to expertly crafted cocktails and featured drinks of the month, there’s a refreshing choice for everyone. Whether its a Pornstar Martini, Inclined Plane beer or an Argentina Malbec, grab a glass and a table in either of our bars.
Prefer something non-alcoholic? We’ve got a great range of soft drink including Frobishers, Fever Tree, Coca-Cola and more…
The coffee house at The Talbot Hotel is a great place to relax, choose a tea or coffee from our wide range of brews, maybe add a delicious pastry and pick up a newspaper.
It’s also an ideal place in the town centre to rest the feet after shopping or to meet up with friends to catch up on the latest news. If the weather’s nice, choose a table in the sunshine or, if not, snuggle up inside. Need a spot to hold an casual business meeting? Then plug in your laptop and you have the ideal setting…
